Title: Grapefruit Cleanser
Categories: Cleanser *
Yield: 4 Ounces
Peel from one grapefruit | ||
1/2 | c | Olive oil |
2 | tb | Grapefruit juice (fresh is best, but bottled may be used) |
1/2 | ts | Borax powder |
This cleanser is perfect for oily skin types because the grapefruit juice makes it mildly astringent. This is because like all citrus fruits, grapefruits contain citric acid. Any citrus fruit could be used in this recipe in place of grapefruit. Heat is used in this recipe to release all of the essential oils from the citrus peels.
Mix all of the ingredients together in a microwave-safe ceramic bowl. Heat for 2 minutes until very hot but not boiling by placing the bowl in a pan of boiling water or in the microwave on High.
Let the mixture cool completely. Pour the mixture through a strainer to remove all grapefruit peel. Store in an airtight container.
Use instead of soap to cleanse your skin.
