Title: Coconut Cloud Cream
Categories: Lotion
Yield: 8 Ounces
2 | tb | Stearic acid powder |
1/4 | c | Coconut oil |
1/2 | ts | Baking soda |
1/2 | c | Distilled water |
A few drops coconut fragrance, optional |
This is a light and fluffy cream that provides all the skin-nourishing qualities of coconut oil in a less oily form. It is especially nice rubbed into warm skin after a bath or shower.
Melt the stearic acid an the oil together. You can do this in a water bath on the stove top.
Dissolve the baking soda in the distilled water and heat to almost boiling (put the solution in the microwave for about 1 minute on High, or heat in a water bath on the stove top).
Stir the water solution slowly into the stearic acid-oil mixture. The mixture will foam up in volume. Stir thoroughly.
Cool this mixture completely. When cool, add a few drops of coconut fragrance if you want a stronger scent (coconut oil already has a light coconut scent), and stir. Pour into an airtight jar and enjoy.
