Title: Yarrow Lotion
Categories: Lotion
Yield: 6 Ounces

1tbDried yarrow flower (you may also use chamomile)
1cBoiling water
1/8tsBorax powder
1tbJojoba oil
1/3cSunflower oil
1tsGrated beeswax

Yarrow, similar to chamomile as a skin soother, contains over 50% azulene, a well-known anti-inflammatory.

Place the yarrow flowers in a heat-proof container. Pour the boiling water over them and allow to sit overnight or for at least 8 hours.

Measure 1/2 c of the yarrow infusion and add the borax, stirring until well mixed. Set aside.

Mix together the oils and beeswax in a glass cup. Place the oils-beeswax mixture in a glass cup in a pan of water (about 1" to 2" of water), making a water bath. Heat over medium heat until the beeswax is melted, 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

When the wax is melted, bring the yarrow solution almost to boiling in the microwave on High for 1 minute. You can also use a water bath on the stove top.

Remove the oil-beeswax mixture from the water bath. Slowly add the yarrow water/borax to the mixture, stirring briskly. You can also put the mixtures in the blender and whip.

Allow the lotion to cool completely. The consistency may seem a bit thin, but it will thicken as it cools. The lotion will be pale yellow in color. Pour the lotion into a clean container with a lid. To use, massage a small amount into your skin.
