Title: Cooling Aloe Lotion
Categories: Misc *
Yield: 4 Ounces
1/2 | c | Aloe vera gel |
1 | tb | Dried chamomile flowers |
1 | tb | Vitamin E oil |
2 | dr | Peppermint oil |
The sap of the aloe vera plant is especially soothing to the skin because of its high water content (it is 99 1/2% water). Chamomile and vitamin E also help condition the skin and prevent peeling.
Mix together the aloe vera gel and the chamomile flowers. Heat gently, but do not boil, 1 minute in the microwave on High or a few minutes in a water bath on the stove top. Let the mixture cool completely, then strain off the chamomile flowers and discard them. Add the vitamin E oil and the peppermint oil to the mixture and stir.
Pour into a clean jar with a tight-fitting lid. For a refreshing treatment, you can place the jar in the refrigerator to cool the lotion before using.
