Title: Soothing Aftershave
Categories: Men *
Yield: 4 Ounces
1/2 | c | Witch hazel |
2 | tb | Vodka |
2 | tb | Dried chamomile flowers |
1/8 | ts | Alum powder, optional |
If your skin is very sensitive, or you have not shaved your fave for a while, this is a good aftershave to try. Chamomile flowers, which look like tiny white daisies, are cooking and soothing to the face. Witch hazel, a well-known astringent, is especially comforting if you happent to cut yourself.
Mix together all ingredients. Pour into a clean jar with a tight-fitting lid. Place the jar in a dark, cool place for 2 weeks. At the end of 2 weeks, strain off the liquid and pour into a clean container. Discard any remaining solids. If you desire a stronger scent, add more chamomile flowers and let sit for another week, then strain as before. To use, splash on your face after shaving.
