Title: Almond Oil Shaving Cream
Categories: Men *
Yield: 8 Ounces
1/4 | c | Stearic acid powder |
2 | tb | Almond oil (or any other light oil) |
1 | c | Hot water |
1 | ts | Borax |
2 | tb | Grated soap |
If you are prone to dry skin, this recipe is recommended. If your skin is flaking or chapped, you may even want to add a little extra oil.
In a double boiler on the stove top, melt the stearic acid powder and oil until it is a clear liquid.
Mix together the hot water, borax and soap, and stir until the borax and soap are completely dissolved. Pour the soap solution in a blender and blend well for about 1 minute. Slowly pour the melted stearic acid mixture into the soap solution. Blend on high until a smooth cream has formed.
Pour into a clean container and allow to cool completely. To use, soften your beard with warm water and then smooth the shaving cream over your face. Use a sharp, clean razor.
