1/2	lb	Margarine
1/2	c	Sugar
1	ts	Vanilla
2 1/4	c	Flour
	ds	Salt
		Maraschino cherries

Mix all ingredients but cherries together in mixing bowl. Take a little piece of dough, put a cherry in the middle of dough. Add another piece of dough on top and roll into ball. Put on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 15-20 minutes (check sooner). Ice when cool. Makes about 3 dozen.

ÕþBICING:þb Õ Õ1 c. powdered sugar Cherry juice (to color icing as pink as you like) 2 tbsp. margarine Õ Ice tops of cookies.
