One half cup butter or Crisco, 1 cup powdered sugar, 1/2 cup water, 2 cups flour after sifting, 2 teaspoonfuls baking powder, 1/2 teaspoonful almond extract, 1 teaspoonful vanilla, whites of 4 eggs. Cream butter and sugar until light. Add water alternately with flour that has been sifted 3 times with baking powder. Fold in well beaten whites of eggs. Pour in pan and bake from 40 to 45 minutes. Ice with boiled icing and decorate with cherries.
