10 | Eggs | |

1 | ts | (large)soda |
1/2 | c | Baking syrup |
2 | c | Chopped dates |
1 | lb | Mixed peel |
1/2 | lb | Almonds |
1/2 | lb | Walnuts |
3 | lb | Raisins |
3 | lb | Currants |
7 | c | Flour |
Directions: Also include Vanilla and Lemon Extract, cloves, cinnamon, mace and 1 1/2 nutmegs. Use some of the flour to flour raisins, currants, dates, peel and nut meats.Put this together in order written down. Bake in a slow oven 3 or 4 hours. This makes a 4 story cake. This is transcribed from my grandmother's handwritten recipe book, used by her during the first quarter of this century.
