Title: Braised Onion Sauce for Pasta

Yield: 6 Servings
1/2 | lb | Butter |
1 | tb | Sugar |
1 1/2 | lb | Onions, peeled, sliced |
1/4 | c | Madeira grated cheese |
Saute onions in butter. Stir in sugar, lower heat and cook very slowly one hour. Stir in the wine, cook briefly, and pour over a pound of freshly cooked pasta. Pass the Parmesan.
