3/4 | lb | Butter |
3 | c | Sugar |
5 | Egg | |
3 1/4 | c | Flour |
1/2 | ts | Baking powder |
1 | ts | Salt |
1 | c | Milk |
1 | tb | Vanilla |
Preheat oven to 325 F; have all ingredients at room temperature.
Cream butter with sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt and sift a second time into the batter mixture, alternating with milk. Add vanilla.
Grease and flour a large tube pan; line bottom with parchment. Pour batter into pan and bake at 325 F. for about one hour, or until done.
