Title: Spaghetti with Tomato Basil Sauce

2 | tb | Olive oil |
1/3 | c | Chopped onion |
3/4 | ts | Minced garlic |
28 | oz | Can crushed Italian tomatoes |
3 | tb | Fresh basil leaves, minced |
3/4 | ts | Salt |
1/2 | ts | Granulated sugar |
1/4 | ts | Ground black pepper |
1 | lb | Spaghetti, cooked and drained |
In a large saucepan, over medium heat, heat oil until hot. Add onion and
garlic. Cook, about 5 minutes, stirring, until lightly browned. Stir in
tomatoes, basil, salt, sugar, pepper and 1/2 c water. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve with spaghetti.
