Title: Taste of Home Taco Bake

Yield: 6 Servings
1 | lb | Ground beef |
1 | sm | Onion; chopped |
3/4 | c | Water |
1 | pk | Taco seasoning; (1-1/4 oz.) |
1 | cn | Tomato sauce; (15-oz.) |
8 | oz | Shell macaroni -cooked and drained |
1 | cn | Chopped green chilies; (4-oz.) |
2 | c | Cheddar cheese; shredded |
In a skillet, brown ground beef and onion over medium heat; drain. Add the water, taco seasoning and tomato sauce; mix. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Stir in macaroni, chilies and 1-1/2 cups of cheese. Pour into a greased 1-1/2-qt. baking dish. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until heated through. It filled a 2 quart casserole plus a small (1- serving) casserole. Very good dinner--served it with Mixed Vegetable Salad.
