Title: Spicy Hot Dates

2 | Sticks butter | |
=(do not use margarine) | ||
1/2 | lb | Sharp cheddar cheese; shred |
2 | c | Flour; all-purpose |
1/4 | ts | Cayenne pepper; or more |
8 | oz | Dates; * see note |
* use an 8-ounce package of pitted dates. Cream butter and cheese very well. Slowly beat in flour and then add cayenne pepper to taste. Take small pieces of the mixture and wrap securely around each date. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake in a preheated 425 degree oven for 10-15 minutes.
