Title: Buttermilk Salad Dressing Mix

Yield: 3 2/3 cups
2 1/4 | c | Buttermilk powder |
3/4 | c | Freeze-dried chives |
1/4 | c | Dill weed |
1/4 | c | Sugar |
2 | tb | Dry mustard |
Place all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Transfer to a 1-quart jar, cover tightly, and store in the refrigerator. Makes about 3 2/3 cups mix.
Nutritional information per 5 tb. mix: calories - 113, protein - 8 gms., total fat - 2 gms., saturated fat - 1 gm., carbohydrates - 16 gms., cholesterol - 16 mgs., added sugar - 15 cal., sodium - 120 mg. No diabetic exchanges listed.
TO MAKE BUTTERMILK DRESSING: In a small bowl, whisk together 5 tablespoons of the buttermilk salad dressing mix, 1/2 cup warm water, 2 tablespoons cider vinegar, and 1 tablespoon of sour cream. Let stand at room temperature at least 30 minutes before using, then whisk again for a few seconds. Makes about 1 cup.
