Title: Meat Sauce for Polenta/pasta

1 | lg | Onion; chopped |
2 | cl | Garlic; minced |
3 | tb | Olive oil |
2 | lb | Lean boneless chuck steak; cubed |
Salt | ||
Pepper | ||
1 | lb | Sweet sausage |
2 | ts | Oregano |
2 | ts | Crushed red pepper; optional |
2 | lg | Cans tomato puree |
In a lg. pot, saute onion and garlic in olive oil until soft. Gradually add chuck steak and sausage and cook until well browned. Stir in tomatoes, add oregano, salt, pepper, and red pepper. Bring to a boil and cover, lower heat and simmer until meat is tender. If sauce is too thick, add a little hot water. Serves 6 to 8.
