8 French bread;slices/toasted
  And buttered, 1/2" thick
4 Eggs
2/3cMaple syrup
1pnSalt
2cHalf and half
  Butter as needed for the pan

Arrange the bread slices buttered side up in a buttered baking dish. Beat the eggs lightly and stir in the maple syrup and the salt. Gradually stir in the half and half, and pour the mixture over the bread. Place the baking dish in a pan of hot water and bake in a 375 degree oven about 35 minutes, or until the custard is set.
