Title: Coffee Bread Pudding

Yield: 8 Servings
1 | c | Strong coffee |
1 | c | Light cream |
2 | c | Milk |
6 | Thin slices raisin bread | |
Softened butter or marg. | ||
2 | Eggs | |
1/2 | c | Sugar |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
1 | ts | Vanilla |
1/4 | ts | Nutmeg |
Plain or whipped cream |
Bring first 3 ingredients to scalding. Spread bread lightly with butter and cut in 1/2" cubes. (do not trim crusts) Add to first mixture. Beat eggs with sugar and salt, add bread mixture and vanilla and pour into 1 1/2 quart casserole. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Set casserole in pan of warm water and bake 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until knife comes out clean. Serve slightly warm or chilled, with cream.
