Title: Frugal Gourmet's New York Onion Sauce for Hot

Yield: 2 Cups
3 | tb | Olive oil |
3 | cl | Garlic; peeled and crushed |
3 | md | Onions; peeled and sliced |
1/2 | c | Commercial marinara sauce |
pn | Crushed red pepper flakes | |
1 1/2 | tb | Paprika |
Salt to taste |
Heat a large frying pan and add the oil, garlic, and onion. Saute until the onion is very tender. Add the marinara sauce, red pepper flakes and paprika. Simmer for 15 minutes. Add salt to taste. Serve over hot dogs on steamed buns. Makes enough for about 8 hot dogs.
