Title: Little Italy Sausage Filled Bread

Yield: 2 Loaves
2 | One lb frozen bread dough | |
Filling for 2 loaves: | ||
1 | lg | Onion chopped |
3 | Garlic cloves minced | |
2 | tb | Olive oil |
1 | ts | Oregano |
1 | ts | Basil |
1/2 | ts | Dried parley |
1 | lb | Italian sausage |
Or turkey sausage | ||
1 | 8 0z can mushroom pieces | |
Salt and peper to taste |
Saute in oil the onions and garlic until tender. stir in the dried herbs. Fresh equivilent if you have them.Remove casing or skin from sausage and cut up and add to onion mixture, stirring to combine. Add the drained mushroom pieces. Drain off any excess oil or fat. Cool mixture. Roll out eat piece of dough to a 12 x 5 rectangle. Spread some filling on the long end. Roll up a little ways and spread more filling, repeating this often as needed to use up filling. Seal and tuck under edges. Fit into a greased bread loaf pan.Bake in a 350 oven 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from pan and place on sides to cool ( a must ).After being thoroughly cooled eat one loaf and freeze the other.Note: there is no rising of dough once dough is filled prior to baking
