3 | tb | Cake flour |
1/4 | ts | Salt |
1 1/2 | c | Milk |
2 | | Egg yolks; slighty beaten |
1 | ts | Vanilla |
Combine sugar, flour and salt in top of double boiler. Add milk gradually,
mixing thoroughly. Place over boiling water and cook 10 minutes, stirring
constantly. Pour small amount of mixture over egg yolks, stirring
vigorously; return to double boiler and cook 2 minutes longer, stirring
constantly. Add vanilla. Cool. Makes enough filling to spread between two
9-inch layers.
