Title: Banana Almond Bread

1/3 | c | Milk;- |
1 1/4 | tb | Applesauce;- |
1 1/4 | md | Egg;- |
1 1/4 | c | Ripe banana; mashed |
1 1/4 | ts | Almond extract |
5/8 | c | Slivered blanch almonds toasted if desire |
3 1/8 | c | All-purpose flour |
1/3 | c | Dark brown sugar |
5/8 | ts | Salt |
1 7/8 | ts | Yeast |
Place in b/m pan according to custom. Bake on rapid cycle.
You'll note from the recipe that this is a yeast-based, cakelike bread, not the more usual baking-powder banana nut bread. It makes as excellent base for petits fours.
You can use a commercial frosting to ice the bread if you choose.
