Title: Black Forest Pumpernickel (Lr)

1 LB LOAF
3/4cWater; (for Welbilt add 1 tbs more water)
2/3cBread flour;
2/3cRye flour;
2/3cWhole wheat flour;
1tsSalt;
1tbOil;
3tbMolasses;
2tbCocoa powder;
2tsCaraway seeds;
2tsRed Star active dry yeast for all machines
1 1/2 LB LOAF
1 1/8cWater; (for Welbilt add 2 tbs more water)
1 1/2cBread flour;
1cRye flour;
1cWhole wheat flour;
1 1/2tsSalt;
1 1/2tbOil;
1/3cMolasses;
3tbCocoa powder;
1tbCaraway seeds;
2tsRed Star dry active yeast; for all machines except 1 1/2 lb

Place all ingredients in bread pan, select LIGHT CRUST setting, and press START.

After the baking cycle ends, remove bread from pan, place on cake rack, and allow to cool 1 hour before slicing.

Author's Note: This is a dark bread with that fabulous, distinctive rye flavor. Pair this soul-satisfying bread with thin slices of ham and cheese or a mug of homemade potato soup.
