Title: Bacon-Beef Roll-Ups

2 | lb | Beef round steak; sliced 1/4" thick |
1/2 | lb | Bacon |
1 | lg | Onion; chopped |
2 | tb | Oil, cooking |
15 | oz | Tomato sauce |
1 1/4 | c | Water; divided |
2 | ts | Cornstarch |
Pound meat with mallet to tenderize; cut into strips measuring about 1x5 inches. Top each strip with slice of bacon and 1 tablespoon onion. Roll up, and secure with wooden pick.
Heat oil in skillet; add roll-ups, turning to brown. Stir in tomato sauce and 1 cup water. Cover; simmer 1-1/2 hours or until tender. Remove roll-ups. Stir 1 tablespoon water into cornstarch until smooth; then stir in remaining water. Blend cornstarch into mixture in pan. Cook and stir until thickened. Pour sauce over roll-ups. Serve with wooden picks.
