Title: Spicy Pear Spread

Yield: 1 Cups

2cPears, peel/core/crush
1tsAscorbic acid color keeper
2tsLemon juice
8 Cloves
1 Stick cinamon (4" long)
1tsUnflavored gelatin (1 pckge)
2tbWater
  Artificial sweetener

Combine pears, ascorbic acid color keeper, lemon juice, cloves and cinnamon in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Sprinkle gelatin over water to soften, let stand 5 minutes. Stir into hot pear mixture until gelatin dissolves. Discard cloves and cinnamon stick. Stir in sweetener to taste. Ladle into hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/2 inch headspace. Wipe jar rims. Seal. Store in refrigerator or freezer.
