3 | | Acorn squash, halved |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
| ds | Pepper |
6 | tb | Butter or margarine |
6 | tb | Brown sugar |
6 | sl | Bacon |
Preheat oven to 400øF. Place squash halves cut-side down on cookie sheet or
baking sheet. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until tender. Meanwhile, fry bacon.
Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle each baked squash half with salt and
pepper. Dot with butter and top with brown sugar. Cut each slice of bacon
into 3 pieces. Lay the 3 pieces across each squash half. Bake for 10 to 12
minutes longer until bacon is browned.
