In sm. bowl, combine cinnamon, cloves, allspice, orange peel and lemon peel. For each bundle, place 1 tsp. of the mixture in center of coffee filter triangle; bring up sides and tie in a bundle(s) to cider in saucepan, using 1 bundle for each 6 oz. of cider. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 10 mins. Remove bundle(s) with tongs. Makes 36 bundles.
*TIP: To crush spices, place in double thickness of heavy-duty resealable plastic bags; seal. Place on cutting board; hit with hammer to crush.
MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS: Place 1 bundle and 6 oz. of cider in microwave-safe mug. Microwave on HIGH for 2-3 mins. or until cider comes to a boil. Let stand 4 mins.; remove spice bundle. "Give these bundles along with a jug of apple cider."
I have not tried this recipe. It comes from my Pillsbury "Holiday" cookbook, Classic #142. Marilyn Sultar
