Title: Ameretto Cheesecake

2 | Envelopes unflavored gelatin | |
1/2 | c | Kahlua |
1/2 | c | Water |
3 | Eggs seperated | |
1/4 | c | Granulated sugar |
1/8 | ts | Salt |
2 | pk | (8 oz each) cream |
Cheese-soft | ||
1 | c | Whipping cream |
optional:shaved chocolate or curled semi-sweet chocolate
In top of double boiler, soften gelatin in Kahlua and water. Beat in egg yolks, sugar and salt. Cook over simmering water, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened. Beat cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually beat in Kahlua mixture, cool. Beat egg white until peaks form. Whip cream until stiff peaks form, Fold egg whites and cream into Kahlua-cheese mixture. Pour into prepared crust. Chil 4 hrs or overnight. Remove from refrigerator 15 minutes before serving. garnish with shaved chocolate. Serves 12.
I found this in a Kahlua freebee recipe book - I think you could substitute ameretto without a problem! Zweiback crust - I would prefer a graham cracker crust laced with liquor. categorie: Cheesecake yield: 1 cake
