Take the yolks of three eggs, 1 pint of milk, 1 cup of apple sauce sweetened t suit the taste, and 1 tablespoonful of cornstarch. Bake with bottom crust only. Beat the whites of the eggs stiff, add 3 tablespoonfuls of sugar and when the pies are done, spread the whites over the tops and return to the oven to brown. this makes 2 pies. (Frederick, Md.)
