Title: Apple Mincemeat Bars

Yield: 24 Bars
6 | tb | Butter |
1/2 | c | Brown sugar, packed |
1/2 | c | Mincemeat |
3/4 | c | All-purpose flour |
1/2 | c | Rolled oats |
1/2 | ts | Baking soda |
1/4 | ts | Salt |
1 | c | Tart apples, peeled & chopped (like Granny Smith) |
1/3 | c | Walnuts, chopped |
Preheat oven to 350øF. Grease an 8-inch square pan.
In a medium bowl, beat butter and brown sugar with an electric mixer on medium until creamy. On low, beat in mincemeat until well blended. Add flour mixed with oatmeal, baking soda and salt and beat until well-blended. Stir in chopped apples and walnuts.
Press dough into prepared pan, being careful to level surface. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in center comes out with a few moist crumbs clinging to it. Cool completely on a rack before cutting into bars.
