1/2 | c | Butter |
4 | oz | Cream cheese, soft |
2 | c | Sifted whole wheat flour |
1 | tb | Honey |
1/4 | ts | Salt |
1/2 | c | Diced apples |
1/3 | c | Brown sugar |
3 | tb | Flour |
1/2 | tb | Lemon juice |
1/4 | ts | Cinnamon |
1/8 | ts | Cloves |
1/8 | ts | Salt |
Cream butter, honey, and cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Sift together flour, honey & salt. Work into creamed mixture with a pastry cutter until completely blended in. Form into a ball; wrap in plastic wrap and chill several hours. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine apples, brown sugar, flour, lemon juice and spices. Roll pastry 1/8" thick; cut into 4 squares. Place one fourth of apple filling on each square. Fold in half diagonally and press edges with tines of fork to seal. Slit pastry with sharp knife. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake 20-25 minutes.
