1 | tb | Flour, corn |
Essence, lemon |
Blend cornflour with a little of the milk. Put milk and sugar on to heat, but do not boil. Stir in blended cornflour with a wooden spoon until thick and smooth.
Add essence- put into a wetted mould to set. [Usually this was a cup with a missing handle.] Serve as sweet topped by thin jam.
