Title: Chocolate Cookie Squares

FILLING | ||
1 | pk | Chocolate chips, semisweet 300 g. |
1 | cn | Sweetened condensed milk 300 ml |
2 | tb | Butter |
DOUGH | ||
2 1/4 | c | Brown sugar; lightly packed |
2 | Eggs | |
1 | c | Butter; melted |
2 | ts | Vanilla |
2 | c | Flour, all purpose -OR- |
2 | c | -Wheat & Oat flour |
1 | c | Pecans; chopped |
"A chunky chocolate cookie that's easy to make as it is baked in a pan and then cut into squares." excellent for freezing
FILLING: Heat chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk and 2 Tbsp butter together over low heat, stirring constantly until smoothly melted. Set aside.
DOUGH: Mix brown sugar and egg together in a large bowl. Add melted butter & vanilla, mixing until smoothly blended. Stir in flour & nuts. Mix well.
Spread half of dough into a greased 13" X 9" cake pan. Spread chocolate filling evenly over dough. Dot spoonfuls of remaining dough on top. Spread dough lightly with knife to cover chocolate. Bake at 350f for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool thoroughly before cutting into squares.
Helpful Hint: Precut bars or squares, wrap them in foil and put in airtight plastic bag and freeze. Then simply take out the number that you need.
