8 | 1-ounce squares semisweet or sweet chocolate; in pieces | |
1/2 | c | Heavy cream |
1 | pn | Grated nutmeg |
1/2 | ts | Ground cloves |
1/2 | ts | Ground cinnamon |
1 | pn | Ground mace or mixed spice |
1/4 | c | Coffee liqueur, dark rum, or brandy |
Melt the chocolate with the cream in a fondue pot on the stove. Add the spices and stir until smooth. Stir in the alcohol and serve, over a table burner if possible.
