Title: Chocolate Outrageous Pie

1 | Baked 9" pie shell | |
1 | c | Butter, (no substitutes), |
8 | oz | Cream cheese, room temp. softened to room temp. |
2 | c | Sugar |
4 | Eggs | |
4 | oz | Bitter chocolate, melted & |
1 | ts | Vanilla or 1/2 tsp mint extr cooled to room temperature |
Whipping cream (optional) |
Cream butter and cream cheese until very fluffy. Slowly add sugar, cream until mixture is very creamy and sugar is dissolved. Add eggs, one at a time, beating 5 minutes after each addition. Add melted chocolate, beat 5 minutes. Add vanilla, beat 5 minutes. Pour into baked pie shell. Chill overnite for filling to firm and flavors to mellow. Top, if desired, with unsweetened whipped cream and chocolate curls. (rather like gilding the lily!)
