Title: Daddy's Favorite Oatmeal Cookies

Yield: 4 Dozen
3/4 | c | Butter; or margarine |
1 | c | Brown sugar; firmly packed |
1 | c | Raisins OR |
1 | c | Mixture of raisins and chopped nuts |
2 | Eggs; well beaten | |
1/4 | c | Buttermilk |
2 | c | Rolled oats; uncooked |
2 | c | Flour |
1 | ts | Baking soda |
2 | ts | Ground cinnamon |
1 | ts | Ground allspice |
1 | ts | Ground cloves |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
Preheat oven to 325~. Melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat. Stir in brown sugar and raisins. Add eggs and buttermilk. Stir in oats. In a a separate bowl, sift flour with baking soda, spices, and salt. Blend flour mixture with oatmeal mixture. Drop cookie dough by tspnfuls on buttered cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 mins., cool on wire rack. Stor in airtight container.
