Title: Dark Chocolate Cake and Frosting

CAKE | ||
1/2 | c | Cocoa |
1 | c | Hot water |
1/2 | c | Shortening |
1 | c | Sugar |
2 | Eggs | |
1 | ts | Vanilla |
1 1/2 | c | Flour |
3/4 | ts | Salt |
1 | ts | Baking soda |
1/2 | ts | Baking powder |
FROSTING | ||
1 | Square baking chocolate | |
1 | tb | Margarine |
1 | c | Powdered sugar |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
1/2 | ts | Vanilla |
2 1/2 | tb | Milk |
Mix cocoa with hot water. Mix shortening and sugar; add eggs and vanilla.
Mix dry ingredients.
Add dry ingredients alternately with cocoa mixture.
Pour into greased 8x10 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool and frost with frosting.
FROSTING: Melt chocolate square and margarine, blend in rest of ingredients until smooth.
