Title: Flaky Pie Crust [America]

Yield: 1 Or 2 crust
AMERICAN MEASUREMENTS | ||
SINGLE CRUST | ||
1 1/2 | c | Flour |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
1/2 | c | Shortening |
4 | tb | Ice water |
DOUBLE CRUST | ||
2 | c | Flour |
1 | ts | Salt |
2/3 | c | Shortening |
5 | tb | (to 7) ice water |
Sift flour and salt together; cut in half of shortening until like cornmeal. Cut in other half until like small peas. Sprinkle ice water over mixture, toss with fork until moistened. Form into ball. Flatten on floured board. Roll to 1/8 inch thick. Roll onto pie plate. Bake per pie recipe instructions or to prebake crust: prick sides and bottom with fork. Bake at 450 degrees 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.
