Title: Frosted Cookie Canes

Yield: 6 Dozen
1 | c | Butter |
1/2 | c | Powdered sugar |
1 | ts | Vanilla |
1/4 | ts | Salt |
2 | c | Sifted all purpose flour |
1/4 | ts | Baking powder |
PEPPERMINT FROSTING | ||
x | Cream* | |
1 1/2 | c | Powdered sugar |
1 | ts | Vanilla |
1/4 | ts | Peppermint extract |
ds | Red food coloring |
For Cookie cream butter, add sugar gradually; blend in vanilla, salt and sifted dry ingredients. Chill
Shape level teaspoonfuls of dough into pencil like strips. Turn one end to resemble a cane; place on greased cookie sheets.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven about 10 minutes. Cool. Make frosting.
Peppermint Frosting:
*No exact amount - use enough cream to make frosting on spreading consistency.
Mix powdered sugar vanilla, peppermint together, add enough cream to get nice spreading consistency. Divide frosting in half; color one half red. Decorate canes with alternate strips of red and white.
