12 | oz | Sugar |
1/2 | pt | Water |
4 | Grapefruit | |
7 | fl | Oz orange juice |
1 | Egg white |
Put sugar and water in pan and heat gently to dissolve sugar. Boil then remove from heat.
Cut tops from grapefruit to act as lids and remove flesh. Squeeze juice from fruit and stir into syrup with orange juice.
Pour into shallow ice trays and freeze.
When half frozen turn into bowl. Whisk egg white until stiff and fold into mixture.
Re-freeze until half frozen then turn out and whisk.
Freeze until firm.
Spoon into grapefruit shells and serve with fresh fruit and cream.
