Title: Raisin Cookies (Living in S. Carolina)

Yield: 3 Dozen
| 1 | c | Raisins |
| 1 | c | Water |
| 3/4 | c | Shortning |
| 1 | c | Sugar |
| 3 | c | Flour |
| 1 | ts | Baking powder |
| 1 | ts | Baking soda |
| 1 | ts | Vanilla |
| 1 | Egg | |
| HOW TO PREPARE PART | ||
Cook rasins and water until 1/2 cup juice remains. Cream shortning, add sugar and beat well. Add well-beaten egg. Sift flour, measure and sift again with other dry ingredients alternately with juice, mixing well. Add vanilla and rasins and mix well. Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake 15 minutes at 375 degrees.
