Title: Rum Refrigerator Cookies

1 | c | Butter |
1 | c | Sugar |
1 | Egg | |
1 | tb | Rum |
1/2 | ts | Ground cardamom |
1 | ts | Grated lemon rind |
1/4 | ts | Salt |
1 | ts | Baking powder |
3 | c | Sifted CAKE flour |
1/3 | c | Finely chopped almonds |
1/3 | c | Finely chopped citron |
Cream butter; add sugar gradually. Beat in egg, rum, cardamom and lemon rind. Blend in sifted dry ingredients, almonds and citron. Chill until firm enough to handle. Shape into rolls about 2 inches in diameter. Wrap in waxed paper; chill overnight. Cut into thin slices, place on greased cookie sheets.
Bake in preheated 375 degrees about 12 minutes.
