Using the Yellow cake mix, substitute club soda for the water called for on the box directions.
Use 4 oz round disposable foil baking cups, reshape them into ovals like the shape of the real "Twinkies". Arrange side by side on a jelly roll pan and fill each half full with batter. Bake as box directs for cupcakes- about 20 minutes or until they test done.
Cool about 5 minutes and then ease open the sides of the cups to invert the cakes onto waxed paper sprayed with cooking spray.
Wash the cups and use again, repeat until all batter is used up.
Fill a plastic ketchup dispenser with Cool Whip. Insert the tip in 3 places in the flat side of each cake. Squeeze a little Cool Whip out into each place until it appears around the surface of the hole.
