Title: Ginger Puffs

Yield: 48 Cookies

2cSifted all-purpose flour
1tsBaking powder
1/2tsSoda
1/2tsSalt
2tsGinger
1/2tsAllspice
1/2tsCinnamon
1/2cShortening; soft
1/2cBrown sugar, firmly packed
2 Eggs
1/2cLight molasses
1cCooked oatmeal, cooled*

Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices into bowl. Add remaining ingredients. Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cooky sheets. Bake in preheated moderate oven (375 F.) 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from cooky sheets; cool. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar, if desired.

*NOTE: Cook Quaker Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked) according to package directions.
