7 | c | Clean rendered tallow |
2 | c | Vegetable oil |
3 1/2 | c | Cold water |
1 | c | + 2 tb lye |
1 | ts | Oil of cinnamon |
1/4 | ts | Each oil of cloves and caraway |
1/2 | ts | Each oil of sassafras and bergamot |
Measure and blend essential oils.
Melt tallow and vegetable oil. Set aside to cool. Stir lye into cold water until dissolved and set aside to cool.
When lye and fat are lukewarm, stir lye slowly into fat, until mixture is thick and creamy. Add essential oils, beating well to disperse evenly. Pour into molds.
