Title: Sweet Stick Pickles

3 3/4 | c | Vinegar |
3 | c | Sugar |
3 | tb | Salt |
4 1/2 | ts | Celery seed |
4 1/2 | ts | Turmeric powder |
Wash and cut cucumbers into sticks. Pour boiling water over them. Let stand overnight.
Next morning, pack solidly into jars. Turn jars upside down; let water drain from them. Boil vinegar, sugar, salt, celery seed, turmeric powder and mustard seed for 5 minutes. Pour hot over cucumbers in jars. Put tops on tight. Process in boiling water bath for 5 minutes, then remove. Makes 8 pints.
