Title: Date Bran Bread

1/2 | c | Molasses |
1 | Egg | |
1 | c | Milk |
1 1/2 | c | Bran |
2 | c | Wholemeal flour |
1/8 | ts | Soda |
1 | tb | Baking powder |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
2 | tb | Melted shortening |
1/2 | c | Chopped dates |
Mix the molasses, egg and milk. Add the dry ingredients mixed together. Then add the melted shortening and dates. Bake in a medium-sized bread pan for 45 minutes in a moderate oven. Raisins may be substituted for dates.
