Title: Baked Fruit, Bread and Butter Custard Pudding

Fruit, stewed | ||
Bread, sliced | ||
Butter | ||
2 | ts | Sugar |
1 | ts | Cinnamon |
1 | Egg | |
1 | tb | Sugar |
1 | c | Milk |
Essence, vanilla |
Three parts fill greased ovenproof dish with warm stewed fruit [not too thin]. Cover with pieces of bread and butter. Sprinkle with 2 teaspoons of sugar and cinnamon. Beat the egg with 1 tablespoon extra of sugar and add milk and a few drops of vanilla. Pour over pudding.
Bake about 40 minutes in moderate oven until top is set.
