Title: Date and Nut Dainties (Aus Herb Soc)

1 | c | Chopped dates |
1 | c | Chopped walnuts |
1 | c | Fine coconut |
1 | c | Fruit sugar |
2 | Egg whites | |
1 | ts | Vanilla |
Into a bowl put dates, walnuts, coconut and sugar; mix well together. Add the egg whites slightly beaten, and the vanilla. Work well with the hands. Form into pyramids about the size of a large walnut. Place on well greased shallow pans and put into a very slow oven for about 20 minutes. Do not allow them to bake more than very slightly brown.
Remove from pan while hot, as soon as it is possible they will have to be reshaped as they spread a little in cooking.
These are very delicious and nice to serve with afternoon tea.
