Soak cucumbers in real cold water, put ice into the water, for 3 hours.
Õ5 c. vinegar 2 tsp. cloves 2 tsp. tumeric, powder 5 c. sugar 2 tsp. mustard seed Õ Pour over pickles in jars and let stand until cool. Process in hot water bath for 5 minutes. Seal.
